The build is the long part and the installation is not. Four to six weeks between a signed configuration and delivery, then a single visit of roughly four to six hours to fit, power, test and hand over.
Why the build takes weeks
It is made to the configuration agreed for your lobby: the footprint, the finish, the trim, the lit band, the compartment mix. Sourcing and assembly account for most of it, software configuration and the opening stock selection for the rest. A provider offering same-week delivery is offering something off a shelf, which is a legitimate product but a different one.
What the on-site day involves
Delivery, fixing, power and network connection, testing every compartment, and handover. Residents arrive to a lobby that was a building site for one morning rather than one quarter. Lift access and a loading window are the two things worth confirming early.
What the clock actually starts on
Not the signature on the proposal. The configuration sign-off and the site survey, both of which have to be complete before anything is sourced. If a timeline in a proposal starts from contract date rather than from those two, ask which it means.
