A resident who is there for five months will not buy a steamer, a printer or a set of tools. The proportion of needs that are better borrowed is far higher than in long-lease residential.

Projectors, games consoles, folding chairs and cooking equipment get used for shared occasions rather than private chores, which shifts the mix noticeably toward the sociable end.
Move-in and move-out are constant
Luggage scales, hand trucks, tool kits and cleaning equipment have demand every week rather than twice a year, because somebody is always arriving or leaving.
Stocked for these people
Cleaning and laundry equipment, tool kits, projectors and games consoles, folding furniture, luggage, and a strong everyday-essentials line because residents shop in smaller quantities.
Co-living operators usually already know which of those get used, because the cupboard version has been running for a year. The selection starts from what survived it, not from a blank catalogue.
