A convenience hub for serviced apartments.
Guests staying long enough to need things a hotel would not stock, in buildings without the staffing to hand them over at midnight.
Serviced and extended-stay apartments sit between a hotel and a home, and the supply problem sits in the gap. A guest staying six weeks needs an iron, a steamer and laundry supplies. They are not buying them, and reception is not always staffed.
Not the same building with a different sign
Guests arrive without things, repeatedly
Adapters, chargers, umbrellas, toiletries and the item someone forgot to pack generate steady, predictable demand that hotel minibars answer badly and expensively.
Length of stay changes the mix
Past about two weeks, guests start needing household equipment rather than travel items: ironing, cleaning, cooking extras. The catalogue has to cover both.
It substitutes directly for staffed hours
This is one of the few settings where the saving is straightforwardly attributable: fewer front-desk requests for physical items, at hours that are expensive to staff.
Turnover is high and accounts are short-lived
Access has to work for someone on their first night with no prior account, which puts weight on the kiosk and on frictionless sign-up.
Stocked for these people
Travel essentials and adapters, personal care, ironing and laundry equipment, cleaning kit, kitchen extras, and a compact everyday-essentials line for the hours nothing nearby is open.
Average length of stay moves this mix far more than unit count does. An aparthotel averaging four nights and one averaging six weeks stock almost nothing in common past the adapters.
How the selection is learned Where this fits in an amenity strategyWhere this is the wrong answer
Properties with a desk staffed around the clock, where a guest asking for an iron is already answered. Short-stay portfolios averaging two or three nights, where nothing but the travel line ever moves. Buildings where a guest arriving at midnight has no way to sign up on the spot. In any of those, the honest recommendation is not us.
